The Ossington Location

The Location

An Address of Many Neighbourhoods

The Ossington is located between Davenport and Dupont, giving it convenient proximity to many exciting neighbouring areas. The Ossington residents can enjoy the many restaurants and charms of Little Italy on College, the fanciful Hillcrest Village and Corso Italia on St. Clair, The Annex on Bloor and of course Ossington Village.

The walk along Ossington is infused with originality and spirit; the community offers some of Toronto’s most popular parks – Christie Pits, Hillcrest Park, Humewood Cedarvale Park, and Wynchwood Barns Park. With the TTC right outside the door, a short walk to the Bloor subway, a massive new SuperCentre in pre-development and everything you need just minutes away, The Ossington is quickly becoming one of the best new addresses in the city!

The Culture

A Rich and Diverse Community

The Ossington area has emerged from an ethnically diverse, working class and sometimes troubled past into Toronto’s trendiest new “it” neighbourhood. Ossington has retained its village feel, with a smattering of cozy coffee houses, restaurants, boutiques, galleries and hot spots that add a truly unique dimension to the area. At one time the inspiration for the streetscapes of Lawren Harris (Group of Seven), the neighbourhood has redefined itself without abandoning its history. Today many of the storefront and building facades have been preserved, enhancing the village-like ambiance.

The area is populated by many artists and is home to a flourishing community of young professionals and a multitude of ethnicities. It has become a mecca of art galleries and fashion boutiques and is considered to be the best place in Toronto to find original local fashion. Some of the more popular stores include Peaks & Rafters, Angus & Company, Cindiloowho, Virginia Johnson, Ulterior Design Gallery, Ministry of the Interior, One Twenty Modern and C1 Art Space. Notice something? These are all “one-ofs” – no cookie cutter chains here – only authentic, individuality.

The Ossington Scene

The Scene

Be a Part of the Ossignton Scene!

Located in what many are referring to as “Toronto’s new cultural corridor”, The Ossington is adjacent to many of the hippest communities downtown. It is surrounded by unique restaurants, pubs and hot spots that add a distinctly cool dimension to the neighbourhood. Here the scene is bohemian, laid back and artsy where restaurants like Salt Wine Bar, Pizzeria Libretto, Rock Lobster, Boehmer, Union and Yours Truly, have become the destination of foodies throughout the city.

Its sophisticated yet unpretentious bar scene is unlike any other in Toronto and features praised local haunts such as Ballet, The Painted Lady, Reposado, Bellwoods Brewery and The Lot. This is one the city’s newest cool destinations and it’s all just a short distance away from The Ossington.
